Small Business Association Honor Nation’s Top Small Businesses

Michael Nevins, CEO of EverLast®/Full Spectrum Solutions, Inc. Selected as Winner for Michigan

JACKSON, MICHIGAN – March 25th, 2014 – From architecture to bakeries, to consulting firms and woodworking - these are just a few of the businesses that will be recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration this year in Washington, D.C., May 15-16.

Michael Nevins, CEO of Full Spectrum Solutions, Inc. and EverLast Lighting, Inc. in Jackson, has been named the Michigan Small Business Person of the Year, to represent the State of Michigan nationally.

The SBA Michigan District Office has selected Nevins for his leadership in the manufacturing and energy efficiency industry and for his contributions to the local, state, and national economy. Nevins will receive his award at the 10th Annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business event on May 6th at the Breslin Center on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing.

Each year since 1963, the president has issued a proclamation calling for the celebration of National Small Business Week. SBA recognizes outstanding small business owners for their personal successes and contributions to our nation.

Small Business Person of the Year winners from the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Guam will gather in Washington during National Small Business Week where one of them will be selected as the 2014 National Small Business Person of the Year. While in Washington, the winners will have opportunities to meet with top SBA officials and national business leaders.

The winners were recently notified by SBA Assistant Administrator Fred Baldassaro who stated, “Your hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to your community have helped you succeed. The SBA is pleased to recognize your achievements and your role in driving our nation’s economic growth.”

Derived from Mike’s innovative entrepreneurial spirit, Full Spectrum Solutions was founded in 1997, based off of a personal need. The company originated on the principle that people who spent the majority of their day indoors needed healthy, full spectrum light in order to lead a productive and happy life.  The business transitioned from not only manufacturing residential products, but also energy-efficient lighting solutions for commercial and industrial applications by launching the EverLast® brand a few years later.

The company has quickly become the leading manufacturer of therapeutic residential home and office lighting products in addition to energy-efficient commercial lighting solutions for roadway, parking structure, facility and area lighting applications.

Products are produced and designed in Michigan at the company’s state of the art UL and ETL certified production facilities.
