The company originated on the principle that people who spent the majority of their day indoors needed healthy, full spectrum light in order to lead a productive and happy life.  The business transitioned from not only manufacturing residential products, but also energy-efficient lighting solutions for commercial and industrial applications by launching the EverLast® brand a few years later.

The company has quickly become the leading manufacturer of therapeutic residential home and office lighting products in addition to energy-efficient commercial lighting solutions for roadway, parking structure, facility and area lighting applications.

Products are produced and designed in Michigan at the company’s state of the art UL and ETL certified production facilities.

Manufacture Develops LED Explosion Proof Canopy Fixture

UltraLux LED Releases Explosion Proof Canopy LED Fixture for Hazardous Location Markets

JACKSON, MICHIGAN – March 12th, 2014 –UltraLux LED, an EverLast® Lighting, Inc. brand, the leading manufacturer of energy-efficient lighting solutions for roadway, parking structure, facility and area lighting applications launched its highly anticipated LED line earlier this month.  “One of the first explosion proof LED fixtures to come to market, the UltraLux LED canopy fixture boasts a Class I & II, Div. II rating and is ideal for most hazardous locations,” commented Alex Orr, VP of Sales at EverLast® Lighting, Inc.

The explosion proof canopy fixture can be used in applications such as cold storage, food and beverage facilities, petroleum and chemical based facilities, car washes, parking structures, and alternative hazardous locations.  “The largest advantage that the ULLED has is that it has the ability to be installed in a wide variety of applications ranging from stairwells and parking garages to hazardous locations; including petrochemical, granaries, and pulp and paper mills,” explained Orr.

The LED explosion proof fixture comes in 42 and 60 watt versions, and qualifies as a Class I, Division 2 with Groups A through D fixture.  It also listed as Class II, Division 2 with Groups F, and G.  ETL listed to UL standards UL 844, CSA C22.2 No. 137-M1981, and UL 1598 & CSA C22.2 No. 250.0-08.  The housing features a closed cell silicone gasket with built in heat sink fins that helps keep the fixture running at optimum temperatures providing an ingress protection rating of sixty-six.

“The hazardous fixture has a polycarbonate lens that is used to reduce glare of the fixture, and also can withstand force.  The lens is ribbed for added ruggedness, and also prismatic for optimal distribution and diffusion,” explained Ralph Hubbs, Senior Design Engineer at EverLast® Lighting, Inc.  “It features a cast aluminum housing equipped with a knockout option on each end and top center of housing for easy wiring options.”

UltraLux LED light fixtures are 60% more energy efficient than metal halides and last up to 50,000 hours, making them virtually maintenance free for years. The explosion proof canopy fixtures provide a clean, white light due to the high CCT of the 5000 kelvin LEDs.  The fixtures also feature instant on/off operation that is critical in most hazardous locations.
The 2’ linear platform fixture is also available in a standard option boasting either an acrylic, polycarbonate, or glass lens and varies in wattage up to 100.

Smart Lighting Gives Billion Dollar Transportation Company Competitive Edge

EverLast® Lighting with Smart Controls Is Used In Parking Lot Lighting Upgrade at UniGroup

JACKSON, MICHIGAN – March 4th, 2014 – In the fall of 2013 UniGroup partnered with Simply Bright Ideas, and EverLast® Lighting, Inc. in an effort to lower their energy consumption, and upgrade their parking lot lighting.  “They were looking for a lighting solution that was energy efficient and controllable based on their parking lot sizes,” commented Brian Brader, representative of Simply Bright Ideas.  “EverLast® was able to exceed their expectations once we were able to determine the appropriate solution.”

Shortly thereafter, UniGroup replaced over one-hundred 1000 watt high pressure sodium fixtures with EverLast® induction 250 and 400 watt shoebox fixtures that produce an equivalent light output allowing them to achieve maximum savings throughout their parking lots.  The fixtures were ordered through City Lighting Products, a distributor out of the St. Louis Missouri area.

UniGroup, Inc., is a $1.6 billion transportation and relocation services company with headquarters in suburban St. Louis, MO. In addition to household goods carriers United Van Lines and Mayflower Transit, UniGroup's subsidiaries include UniGroup Relocation, which provides global moving and destination services in more than 146 countries, UniGroup Logistics, which specializes in tailored supply chain solutions, Allegiant Move Management, which is a transportation management company for corporate and government accounts, and Trans Advantage, which provides goods and services to professional movers.

The EverLast® fixtures also came with integrated Lumewave systems for enhanced controllability.  “The fixtures were specifically cut to fit the wireless Lumewave control system.  Motion sensors were also added so that each light’s dimming levels could be controlled individually,” explained Brader.  Lumewave products used wirelessly with induction fixtures are ideal for saving energy, reducing light pollution and enhancing public safety especially in and around large educational or business campus parking, sidewalk and other outdoor areas.

“UniGroup was a very unique project that paired our EverLast Induction Shoe Box fixtures with LumeWave controls.  This allows facility engineers to program the lighting according to need thus making the entire exterior lighting space more efficient,” stated Alex Orr, Vice President of Sales at EverLast® Lighting, Inc.

EverLast® induction light fixtures are 50-70% more energy efficient than metal halides and last up to 100,000 hours, making them virtually maintenance free for up to 15 years. The EverLast® 300 watt Classic Shoe Box fixtures provide a more natural and high color rendition light quality than traditional metal halide or high pressure sodium fixtures. EverLast® Induction lighting fixtures are also available with a dimmable option, providing even more energy savings while areas are vacant.

The EverLast® shoebox fixtures are commonly used in surface parking lots and can be found installed at Allegiance Health in Jackson, Michigan, Crippen Auto Mall in Lansing, Michigan, Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, and Kelly Chevrolet in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
