Induction Manufacturer Bets On Engineering, Development, as Key to Market Leadership

EverLast® Lighting Bolsters Engineering Department to Support Manufacturing Growth and Product Development

JACKSON, MICHIGAN – February 25th, 2013 – EverLast® Lighting Inc. a leading manufacturer of energy efficient lighting technologies, has recently announced critical additions to its corporate level team. With a flurry of personnel moves over the last month; the company has made quite a splash in the industry.  The moves are intended to catalyze research, development, engineering and innovation, and started with the announcement that they would be adding a new Vice President of Engineering to lead integral manufacturing related operations.  After 21 years of engineering experience at Robert Bosch, LLC., Paul Wickett has been appointed by EverLast® to the new position.  “There’s a lot similarities between EverLast® and Bosch in terms of being manufacturing driven, engineering driven, and customer driven.  Additionally, they are both private companies that are striving to do the right thing for their industry,” commented Wickett.  “I wanted to work with EverLast® because of their commitment to the United States and North America.  Their manufacturing process and loyalty to the state of Michigan coupled with some of the lighting industry’s most innovative practices makes them very appealing as a manufacturer.”

The move comes on the heels of an announcement that the company will continue its rapid re-shoring of light fixture manufacturing. There are also plans in place for the development and deployment of several new products and technologies, and this move means “the talent infrastructure is now in place”.  Wickett, originally from Canada, earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto, and his Master’s Degree in Engineering Management at the University of Michigan. Additionally he is a certified Black Belt in Design For Six Sigma (DFSS). “One of my immediate goals was to begin the re-engineering of products that the lighting industry has never before seen in the U.S,” commented Wickett.  “It amazes me to see the caliber of employees at this organization and the skillset that we have available to make this idea a reality.  There is some top manufacturing talent beneath the EverLast® umbrella.”

Immediately after landing Wickett, EverLast® began adding to its existing team in order to further support its engineering investment. Within weeks the company added Ralph Hubbs, who will serve as Senior Engineering Coordinator.  Hubbs has over 35 years of engineering experience and previously designed hybrid automotive transmissions.  “At EverLast®, a genuine commitment to research, development and engineering have been foundational to the success we’ve experienced to date,” stated Brandon Marken, Vice President of Sales.  “Continuous improvement is a fundamental ideology at our company, which is why we’re so excited. Whenever you inject this much leadership, credibility and capability into an organization, only good things can happen.”

Jeffrey Johnson, Technical Services Manager of EverLast® Lighting, has been with company since 2007 and leads the companies Research and Development department while he coordinates new product design with Wickett and Hubbs.
