Snap-On Tools Installs Induction Light Fixtures at Iowa Location

EverLast® Lighting Is Used In Franchise Facility Lighting Upgrade

JACKSON, MICHIGAN – October 17th, 2013 – Snap-On Inc. is a leading global innovator, manufacturer and marketer of tools, equipment, diagnostics, repair information and systems solutions for professional users performing critical tasks. Many of its products and services include hand and power tools, tool storage, diagnostics software, information and management systems, shop equipment and other solutions for vehicle dealerships and repair centers, as well as customers in industries including aviation and aerospace, agriculture, construction, government and military, mining, natural resources, power generation and technical education.

Recently, Snap-On Tools partnered with Crescent Electric Supply of Mason City, Iowa and NRG Sales located in Des Moines, Iowa in an effort to seek out a commercial lighting solution that would meet their facility codes while improving illumination, and significantly lowering energy costs.  As a result, the company decided on 170 EverLast® 300 watt induction High Bay fixtures. “We selected EverLast® at that time because of the common failures with the existing T5 lighting in this particular facility and wanted something that was guaranteed to be energy efficient,” explained Leonard Nicol, Representative of NRG Sales.  The EverLast® 300 watt High Bay fixtures were installed in an effort to lower energy consumption, and increase visual acuity at a Snap-On Tools location in Algona, Iowa.

Following the success of the first project, Snap-On Tools decided to move forward again with EverLast® by installing 180 additional EverLast® 300 watt High Bay fixtures in the same location.  “One of the biggest incentives was that the fixtures were rated at 100,000 hours, and that the customer could replace each fixture one-for-one,” Nicol commented.

Snap-On also derives income from various financing programs to facilitate the sales of its products.  Products and services are sold through the company's franchisee, company-direct, distributor and Internet channels.  Founded in 1920, Snap-on is a $2.9 billion, S&P 500 company headquartered in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

EverLast® induction light fixtures are 50-70% more energy efficient than metal halides and last up to 100,000 hours, making them virtually maintenance free for up to 15 years. The EverLast® 300 watt Aluminum High Bay fixtures provide a more natural and high color rendition light quality unlike traditional Metal Halide fixtures. EverLast® induction lighting fixtures are also available with a dimmable option, providing even more energy savings while areas are vacant.

The EverLast® High Bay fixtures are commonly used in large scale facilities and can be found installed in COBO Hall in Detroit, Michigan, the Tulsa Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

JACKSON, MICHIGAN – September 3rd, 2013 – Washington Market, a Sandor Development owned property located in Indianapolis, Indiana, and akin to Washington Square Mall, recently partnered with Cherry Logistics, and EverLast® Lighting, Inc. in an effort to lower their energy consumption, and upgrade their parking lot lighting.

“Sandor Development currently owns and manages more than 8 million square feet of commercial retail space in 25 states and continues to grow. When we partnered with Sandor, they asked us to provide a solution for a property in need of a substantial lighting upgrade,” explained Tom Cashman, Representative of the Commercial Construction Services Division of Cherry Logistics. “Cherry had completed other similar lighting projects, and with the help of KSA Lighting, and EverLast® Lighting, we quickly had the proper solutions sized and ordered for this application. Cherry’s network of installation contractors allows us to be very competitively priced and still offer all of the ‘on the ground’ leg work to make sure the project goes smoothly and performs as expected.”

Washington Market replaced all of their 1000 watt high pressure sodium fixtures with EverLast® induction 300 watt shoebox fixtures that produce an equivalent light output allowing them to achieve maximum savings.  “When it was determined that an induction system would be used, EverLast®’s reputation for quality and performance left little doubt in my mind as the clear choice,” stated Cashman.

The EverLast® 300 watt induction shoebox fixture utilizes enhanced optics, improving fixture efficiency 30% and increasing overall light distribution by 35%.  The preliminary design analysis indicated a savings of over 50% with a 15% increase in illumination in the parking lot area. The 300 watt Induction shoebox fixture installation was intended to replace all of the 1000w high pressure sodium fixtures, and in addition, Sandor Development was also able to receive a rebate from Indianapolis Power and Light.  The local utility’s rebate program entitled them to a return of 200 hundred dollars per fixture.

EverLast® induction light fixtures are 50-70% more energy efficient than metal halides and last up to 100,000 hours, making them virtually maintenance free for up to 15 years. The EverLast® 300 watt Classic Shoe Box fixtures provide a more natural and high color rendition light quality than traditional metal halide or high pressure sodium fixtures.  EverLast® Induction lighting fixtures are also available with a dimmable option, providing even more energy savings while areas are vacant.  “All feedback regarding the installation of the new fixtures has been positive, and the elimination of the HPS haze has been welcomed.  I was very pleased with the look of the property during our night audit of the performance, and visual aesthetics,” commented Cashman.

The EverLast® shoebox fixtures are commonly used in surface parking lots and can be found installed at Allegiance Health in Jackson, Michigan, Crippen Auto Mall in Lansing, Michigan, Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, and Kelly Chevrolet in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.

Manufacturer Honored Amongst tED Magazine’s National Marketing Competition

EverLast® Lighting wins in tED Magazine’s Annual Best of the Best Competition amongst Electrical Industry for its Website

JACKSON, MICHIGAN – August 13th, 2013 – On August 6th, EverLast® Lighting, Inc. took home one of the coveted crystal stars issued by tED Magazine in Chicago, Illinois at its Annual Best of Best awards ceremony in recognition of its website as a supplier under $250 million in sales.  Osram Sylvania was recognized with EverLast® for Best of the Best website as a supplier over $250 million in sales.  tED magazine's Best of the Best awards program honors marketing excellence and recognizes creativity within the electrical industry. With three divisions for distributors and two for manufacturers to allow competition to occur between like-sized companies, awards were presented in 14 categories. Judged by a panel of industry and marketing experts, the award recognizes industry excellence and that their work is highly regarded within their own industry.  Other category winners included Van Meter, Inc., RAB Lighting, Madison Electric Products, Phillips Lighting, Leviton, and General Electric.

“Our previous website was lacking in usability, design standards, information architecture, social media and content management,” explained Daniel Wolfe, I.T. and Design Manager at EverLast® Lighting, Inc.  “Our goal was to increase our daily unique visitors and overall visibility. We also wanted to direct the increased traffic to specific pages to produce an intended response, such as quote requests being filled out or a social media interaction.”

The ‘EverLast® 2.0’ website redesign was launched on April 10th, 2012, and had a direct impact increasing sales and brand awareness for the EverLast® energy efficient lighting products.  The average unique daily visitors increased by 70 within two months of the launch and have grown to over 800 per day.  Initially, EverLast® saw a 20% increase in online quote requests, and by the last quarter of 2012; 30%.  Similar patterns coincided with an increase in phone inquiries.

Most importantly, overall sales increased by 5 percent.  “We also needed to understand and familiarize ourselves with what tools we could provide our representatives,” Wolfe commented.  “We invited top EverLast® Representatives to look at our information, and asked them what would help them approach the lighting industry. As a result a rep portal was created as a repository of information that includes a marketing material ordering forms, videos, white papers, software, branded emails and media branding kits.”

EverLast®’s authorized manufacturer’s representative firms actively make use of the sales/training portal.  The website garnered over 3,000 email subscriptions to EverLast® Essentials allowing the company an opportunity to secure valuable user information.  EverLast® Essentials delivers the latest company news broken down into multiple categories, such as Tradeshow Tuesday’s, Follow Friday’s, Exploring EverLast®, along with standalone posts about events, awards and our involvement in the community.

“We’re excited to win such a prestigious award, undoubtedly the result of a great team; our in house graphic design specialist Dustin Everden, and Pay Per Click marketing expert Jake Mossing. In addition, we also had a great deal of support from Brandon Marken, our Vice President of Sales, and Kyle Leighton, our Public Relations Coordinator.  The combined efforts resulted in a rich and engaging experience for the end user, and an affirmation that we are ahead of our competition,” stated Wolfe.

University of Pennsylvania Installs Induction Light Fixtures at Campus Gymnasium

EverLast® Exceeds Specification Standards and Lowers Energy Consumption in Lighting Upgrade

JACKSON, MICHIGAN – July 23rd, 2013 – Founded by Benjamin Franklin, the University of Pennsylvania is a private Ivy League research university located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Recently, the university has adopted several strong sustainability initiatives on their campus such as the Green Campus Partnership in an effort to become more energy efficient.  In the spring of 2013, Penn partnered with Atlantech, Inc. and EverLast® Lighting as they began the initial stages of a major lighting overhaul at their Hutchinson gymnasium.  The university focused on a commercial lighting solution that would meet their facility codes while improving illumination, and significantly lowering energy costs.

Due to the demands of the Hutchinson gymnasium, facility managers were concerned about light levels, installation deadlines, reliability, and procuring a fixture that would meet the energy reduction and US Made requirements.  As this project was for an upgrade to their sports complex gymnasium, I suggested the EverLast® fixture due to both the color temperature and high CRI ratings as they were the most advantageous for events and broadcasting,” explained Ryan Miller, Representative of Atlantech.  “In addition, the 100,000 hour lifespan of the fixture coupled with a 10 year warranty, and no maintenance costs made EverLast® the superior commercial option.”

The university replaced 100 1,000 watt metal halide high bay fixtures with EverLast® 400 watt open rectangular induction lights delivering a savings of over 60% a year.

EverLast® induction light fixtures are 50-70% more energy efficient than metal halides and last up to 100,000 hours, making them virtually maintenance free for up to 15 years. The EverLast® 400 watt open rectangular high bay fixtures provide a more natural and high color rendition light quality unlike traditional metal halide fixtures. EverLast® Induction lighting fixtures are also available with a dimmable option, providing even more energy savings while areas are vacant.

“Colleges and Universities nationwide have been selecting EverLast Induction Lighting fixtures, many of which have stemmed from the Campus Sustainability Initiative.  It’s no surprise that the country’s leading colleges and universities have selected EverLast Lighting as part of their lighting upgrades," explained Alex Orr, Regional Sales Manager of EverLast® Lighting, Inc. "With an industry leading warranty, superior efficiency, and exceptional light quality, EverLast Lighting has been repeatedly selected for similar collegiate installations."
