World Renowned Lambeau Field Selects Induction Lighting As Part of A Major Renovation

Home to the Green Bay Packers, Stadium Uses EverLast® to Meet Building Codes, and Lower Maintenance Costs

JACKSON, MICHIGAN – October 22nd, 2012 – As part of a stadium renovation that included 6,600 additional seats, and new state of the art video boards, Lambeau Field also undertook a major lighting overhaul.  Designed to improve safety, visibility, and meet emergency regulations; seventy-one 200 watt EverLast® Induction High Bays were used to supplement existing lighting inside the newly renovated facility.  “EverLast® provided for a color temperature that we needed as it was a custom blend at 3000 Kelvin.  Additionally, there were strict emergency lighting specifications that we had to meet.  The fixture had to be able to turn on within 10 seconds in the event of an outage per the building code.  EverLast® fixtures are doing double duty as they possess the color rendition that is required in addition to the instant on feature.” said Greg Sadowski, President of POWRTEK ENGINEERING.  To further their efforts, several hundred of the EverLast® fixtures will be installed throughout the stadium in the winter of this year.  “HID cannot provide the specifications that were required.  Furthermore, with EverLast® having a 100,000 hour lifetime on their fixtures it was an easy decision.  We would’ve been lucky to get 20,000 hours out of any other fixtures.  Once we took the warranty, and the lower maintenance costs into consideration we knew that we wanted to go with EverLast®,” Sadowski commented.

POWRTEK began research for a lighting solution earlier this summer for Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin with the goal of meeting building codes, in addition to lowered maintenance costs.  Alternative Sales and Marketing of Forest Lake, Minnesota connected with POWRTEK to find an efficient option that matched their lighting specifications.

"The success of the EverLast® Induction fixtures in the upper midwest region has been phenomenal for reasons such as engineering support, ability to provide lighting layouts, custom modifications when needed, product stock, and a U.S. manufactured product,” stated Jim Fink, Representative of Alternative Sales and Marketing.  “The key successes in this market are the operation of the induction lighting in exceptionally cold weather.”

The EverLast® 200 watt Huron Aluminum High Bay solution was engineered to match the existing lighting temperature in order to protect the visual integrity of the historic stadium.  EverLast® induction lighting fixtures are also available with a dimmable option, providing even more energy savings while areas are vacant.  Furthermore, induction lighting uses 60 percent less energy and has an unmatched 100,000 hour lamp life.

”The high bay fixture has been sought out especially in large facilities where labor and lowered maintenance costs have been deciding factors as a result of the long life span of the fixture and the 10 year warranty,” Fink commented.

Chevrolet Dealership Cuts Energy Costs with Induction Lighting

EverLast® Lighting Selected for Chevrolet Dealership

Jackson, MI – October 12, 2012 – "They should move the showroom outside,” said a salesman at the Kelly Chevrolet dealership regarding the recent lighting upgrade. In the summer of 2012, the Phoenixville, Pennsylvania Chevrolet dealer partnered with Schielle Thornton Electric to complete an initiative to significantly improve their outdoor lighting. The local contracting company reviewed the existing lighting in their parking lot and after the initial assessment, Schielle Thornton contacted Atlantech Alliance to arrange an initial discussion for both improved illumination in addition to significant energy savings with the the dealership. “During the install we noticed that the lamp sizes already in the parking lot were two times as large. We knew that we could provide superior illumination and significant energy savings," stated Ryan Miller, Representative of Atlantech Alliance.

The EverLast® 250 watt Induction Shoebox fixture utilizes enhanced optics, improving fixture efficiency 30% and increasing overall light distribution by 35%, and the preliminary design analysis indicated a savings of 44% with a 15% increase in illumination in the parking lot area. The 250 watt Induction Shoebox fixture installation was intended to replace all of the 400w metal halide fixtures. However, during the installation they had confirmed that several of the fixtures were not actually 400w, but 1000w metal halide.

"EverLast® has designed enhanced features into its Shoebox fixture which exceeds most parking lot application requirements tied to upgrade initiative programs, and delivers a product which is Made in the U.S. Because EverLast® was proactive in the development of several features in the parking lot lighting solution; it eliminated tons of service related challenges. The ROI for EverLast® is monumental compared to other lighting solutions on the market," commented Miller. "Furthermore, the local community has increased interest tied to dark sky and improved quality of light because of the efficiency of the fixtures and the aesthetics of the parking lot."

When the project was completed the energy savings was greater than 62% and the increase of illumination was over 30%. The installation was an initial phase of an upgrade and provided the dealership with a positive experience where they can proactively manage and forecast future lighting upgrades.

Water Department In Tampa, Florida Selects Induction Lighting Over LED

Department Uses EverLast® to Lower Utility Bills, and Maintenance Costs

Jackson, MI– September 20, 2012 – The Water Department in Tampa, Florida began research for a lighting upgrade earlier this spring with the goal of cutting energy costs at their local facility. An upgrade in lighting would enhance efficiency of the facility but the building had stringent criterion to meet before installation of any fixtures. The city of Tampa reached out to JAG Lighting of Winter Springs, Florida to find a solution that match their lighting specifications. They replaced 50 of their 250 watt Metal Halide wall packs with 120 watt EverLast® Induction wall packs. "The reason that they went with EverLast® was because they were looking at alternatives to LED products. When considering lamp life, return on investment, product cost, and maintenance cost reduction, EverLast® fit that criterion across the board," said Rick Graddy, Vice President of JAG Lighting Solutions.

The EverLast® products were recommended based on their reliability and warranty to the City of Tampa, and were also more cost effective as compared to LED. As the City made its initial moves for capital improvement to replace some aging poles and fixtures; they decided to look at what was available for lighting with longer lamp life and improved efficiencies. During design for that project the department also decided to create a master lighting plan for the rest of the facility and start an in house project to upgrade the lighting over time. After reviewing the master lighting plan it was evident that they would benefit in replacing the lighting with a more aggressive schedule instead of waiting for them to fail.

The EverLast® 120 watt Classic Wall Pack fixtures provide a more natural and high color rendition light quality unlike traditional Metal Halide fixtures. EverLast® Induction lighting fixtures are also available with a dimmable option, providing even more energy savings while areas are vacant. Furthermore, induction lighting uses 60 percent less energy and has an unmatched 100,000 hour lamp life.

"We have seen a tremendous increase in the number of inquiries and sales for Induction Lighting products in the last several years. A great many customers had never heard of Induction Lighting technology until they started looking at increasing energy efficiencies and reducing maintenance costs associated with site, street, and facility lighting. Many customers began their search looking at the relatively new LED lighting technology. The high cost of LED products and the relatively short history of field installations led many of them to look for alternatives," stated Graddy.
